The City of New London and the U.S. Coast Guard are celebrating a 218-year-old relationship Saturday and Sunday with concerts, parades, boat tours and lunch with a cadet.

At 10:30 a.m., Sat., cadets, other Coast Guard units and a variety of community-based organizations will parade down Bank Street to the Parade and then up State Street.

At 2 p.m., the Coast Guard Band will perform a free concert at the Garde Arts Center.
