Volunteering and EmploymentThe Garde Arts Center’s mission is to engage our wonderfully diverse region in a variety of the finest performing arts and community programs by creating unique, welcoming, creative and interactive experiences here in our historic facilities that make all of us proud to live and work together.
As a community-supported non-profit organization, the Garde relies on the participation of talented folks who lend their time and skills to meet a variety of needs. We are open to folks with special skills who may be able to help out in very specific projects or in support of specific staff, as well as those who wish to help out during the many performances and events held throughout the year.
The categories of Volunteer Opportunities are:
• Performance Volunteers:
(supporting these general event types: Garde Theater, Schooltime Matinees, Oasis Room)
o Lobby Monitors
o Aisle Captains
o Ticket Takers
o Program Distributors
o Seat ushers
• Patron Service Volunteers
o Concessions: bar backing, candy sales, merchandise sales
o Concierge: providing theater and community information to patrons
o Reception attendants: help support show-related and community receptions, and private parties and meetings
• Artist Hospitality Volunteers: Set up/presenting dressing room and green room food, providing amenities and special services for artists
• Box Office Volunteers: assisting handing out tickets during performances, assisting with phones and general information during regular box office hours
• Facility Volunteers: Assisting with displays, décor and cleaning; theater and building maintenance
• Special Project Volunteers: Community outreach, social networking and administrative support
