Planned Giving

On September 22, 1926 local developer and entrepreneur, Walter Garde, fulfilled a dream by constructing one of the most unique movie and vaudeville palaces in the country. Since that time, the Garde Theatre has played host to some of the leading films and "live" entertainment programs in the world. The Garde's presence in the community has enriched a region with the best of the performing and visual arts.

The Walter Garde Society pays tribute to those individuals who are committed to excellence in support of the arts and who have made or intend to make estate or planned gifts to the Garde Arts Center. Gifts of the past have helped create the excellence and successes of today. As a member of The Walter Garde Society, you can help us bridge the future with your purposeful gift from your estate plan (Wills, Trusts, Life Insurance and other planned gifts).

There are many ways in which your philanthropic giving can work for you to boost your financial return through creative tax and financial planning. With your legal and tax advisors, we can help you plan for tomorrow and receive maximum benefits today including current income tax deductions, the avoidance of long-term capital gains taxes, increasing income and your effective rate of return, and the reduction in estate and gift taxes.
